Is there a device that can be worn all the time sort of like a sports watch does with heart rate? Something that is not tied into a cell phone?
I am wanting to moniter my blood pressure more constantly without having to use the wrist or arm cuff.
When people are in the hospital they are hookup to a constant moniter for this. So is there something like this for home use?

I was hoping someone had experience with something like these. I really like the idea of monitering blood pressure anytime a person wants to.

I wonder how useful spot readouts would be. Blood pressure jumps all over the place, and that's normal. What matters is the trend, the baseline over time given common conditions.
For a data device, would the spot information be transmitted, gathered and analyzed by a cloud service somewhere? It's pretty personal data, with implications in insurance, employment, heaven knows what. What privacy rules apply? What's in the fine print?
I looked at these products and ... I don't know what to say! The Omron actually has a mini-cuff built into the wrist band, but the others ... they seem to be using some magic to come up with a BP reading. The Asus ... despite having "BP" in the name doesn't actually claim to measure blood pressure ... they are just measuring something that looks a lot like blood pressure! The GBD ... well, I won't say anything cuz I can't be nice.
Overall these devices are neat but the measurement of blood pressure isn't passive - unlike measurements of pulse or blood oxygen. To my knowledge there is still no way to measure blood pressure without a cuff - which creates an artificial constriction for the measurement. Blood pressure measurements are also easily skewed by your position/posture - so a measurement taken when you're bending over in the garden isn't comparable to one sitting in your chair. My doctor says to take it at the same time everyday
My cousin just bought one of these smartwatch BP type things. The cheaper ones all seem to involve a smartphone app, but as Eliot mentions, the accuracy (and even... legitimacy?!) seems a bit spotty.
I wear a fitness tracker that tracks my heart function and it came with a massive warning about how it is only for "entertainment purposes" and has a big margin of error and shouldn't be considered as a diagnostic etc etc. For BP, or temperature, or even pulse, if I had a medical condition I was tracking, I wouldn't trust one of these things.
Thanks, everyone for the great advice. All this has been about the same as my feelings.
No medical condition. I was looking at the $60.00 ones and thought it would be a good Christmas gift for hubby. When I started reading about smartphone apps, I quit looking since I don't have a smartphone.
It is great idea though.
