Universe and Texas Permies...I need some help.

I want/need a place to call home and work to do that makes a difference.
I want to stay in Texas for now and would like to be in the hill country or around Austin/San Antonio.
I need a small apt/cottage/farm house/ guesthouse etc. that can fit myself and my 14 yr old daughter (she LOVES animals and is a big help with them)  with full amenities. A good highschool nearby would be ideal.
I can rent, work for rent, wwoof (longer term) be an employee, etc.
I am strong, can lift heavy weight, have some power tool experience, butchering, gardening, can help with any project or take orders and do it on my own.  I cook, actually enjoy cleaning and am not afraid to get my hands dirty.
I have references!

If not, we just bought a place at Lake Brownwood and I could use some help getting it fixed up.
I'd rather have a woman to help me simply because my husband isn't here yet.

if you had some kind of tiny house already we could talk? we have land an hour west of austin that we plan to build into an intentional community - but no infrastructure yet, nor for a while...
