I am once again asking for your financial support. Kickstarter
We have done so much in the name of Plantr over these last few months and it is finally ready for you to get behind it to bring permaculture to everyone in the world.
If we are to succeed in this endeavor we need every single certified permaculturist to join in to help make it a reality.
Life has gotten crazy and we lack any sort of stability that we truly deserve.
Life can however get much better, and Plantr wants to help do just that.
Say you live in a suburban or urban area and you want to practice permaculture but you have no land, Plantr will connect you to those that do have it and want food and forests grown on their lawn.
And say you find a property that wants a much larger project done than a 1/4 acre lawn, Plantr connects you to other G.U.I.L.D.S that would be able to assist you in said project.
Victory gardens are making a comeback and people are realizing the hard labor that goes with traditional food growth is unsustainable.
Every home in the world would benefit from learning about and practicing permaculture.
Yet demanding that of every home in the world is even more unsustainable than the situation we're in, we can't possibly make everyone a permie
Of course, the solution to this is to offer it to everyone and let them see for themselves that this easier way of life is what will be the better option for them.
Unlike other job platforms that are there to make money off the people that perform the jobs, Plantr will always have you in mind and keep you well funded in your service to the people and the world.

Another day another dollar, we have more than $600 dollars invested already in Plantr! That still not enough though but I know we can do it. I am getting outside sources coming to donate but I still need you guys, you professionals that know what you are doing, you professionals that want to share permaculture with the world. Even if you don't have anything to give you have ways to share the project with those around you to see if they want to improve their world with permaculture. http://kck.st/3p6ds5R

Day 8 of the kickstarter!
I can't wait for you all to become part of Plantr and improving your communities while being able to make a living and providing for yourself.
I'm working hard every day to bring you all a platform to sell your services to people who are tired of their lawns and want to do something about it while not doing anything at all.
This grow to-go will be the new normal in the world that will put an end to the grass lawns that plague the world.

Semper,
Shane

So is Plantr a marketplace for permaculture designers to contract out their services or a directory of projects that users can match up with?

You mention that Plantr wont make money off of the people performing the jobs, so what exactly is the business model? How do you pay for the upkeep of servers? Is money made off of those listing their projects? Does Plantr act as a middle man?

I have experience with multiple tech startups as a software engineer and business manager and I could defiantly make a marketplace app for permaculture designers to sell their services for a bit over 10K including all the legal, development and publishing costs.

You would likely have to market this as "edible landscaping services" or maybe "food forests" since I'm not so sure the term permaculture is so mainstream.

50 days left and still going strong!
There haven't been any donations but that doesn't mean there hasn't been anymore support. We look forward to bringing you the platform of the future very soon.

Hi T Simpson, I'm sorry for the late response this system is not my favorite for user engagement. To answer your questions, first I think I have miscommunicated the business model, Plantr is both the marketplace and directory. It is also a portfolio and network service that designers can use to accumulate and store designs and their experience and be able to promote any service they might provide.

As for how Plantr makes money, we will charge a minor startup fee of $20 to host your portfolio to promote and charge a $5/mo. fee to continue hosting. this is just for our beginning version of the app we will later use a commission system that charges the customer extra while you the designer still retain all the funds that were agreed on.

I would love to talk to you about potential work with us however I and some volunteers are who is making it and I have no budget for further expenses. And yes my marketing is constantly evolving to better fit the market.
