Traffic cone to kill cone

Found these traffic cones in a parking lot one day.  Turned a traffic cone in to a kill cone. Going to try it on the next door or 2.

Put the chicken in the cone and measure by looking through the bottom and making a guess as to where to cut. You need a razor knife to cut the cone with. After cutting put the chicken back in to see if you need to cut some more.

Start with a smaller hole you would normally think to cut.

We did this and we almost cut them too big. Chickens can squeeze through a surprisingly small hole.

I have used this method to butcher chickens and it worked well. As mentioned, you need to make sure to keep the hole small to constrain the chicken.

We never had a need for a kill cone.

We hung the chicken upside down, slit its throat then jerked its shirt off so there was not need to pluck the chicken.
