We have a number of older people in our community as well as young couples who are time poor. Having read a fair bit here at Permies and watching some videos, it seems that by having a like-minded group we can achieve more as a group than as individuals - synergistic achievement so to speak.  6 people can achieve more in one hour that 1 person might achieve in 6 hours and not be knocked out from the effort.  The overall idea would be to collectively do an hour or two at each person's place over a fortnight to a month to get the gardens up, running and producing, and then move into a maintenance/ improvement phase where any excess fruit, veg or flowers may be available to sell or swap with those out side of the collective.

My thoughts are to include garden set up, garden fencing to exclude animals, small landscaping projects, getting rid of plants that the person does not want (weed management but I am finding too many previously thought of weeds that are actually good to compost or eat) . Planting out vegetables and flowers seasonally and perennials.  We each have different skill sets and levels as well as time and tools.

To put out a community letter/ information flyer, what things should or could be included.  We all have out own bits of paradise up to 25 acres (10.8 Ha).  It has been suggested that we could have a BBQ or similar after the hour or two.
Thanks in advance for your ideas

I think this is a great idea and have thought about doing something similar here.  Most gardeners, whatever the size or state of their garden/holding have a job that is much easier to do with friends, whether it is pruning the roses or digging a new pond.  Maybe draw lots for the order of work, those that are first on the list will probably have more helpers.
I suggest having a social as the first event, just a bring your own/barbecue type thing to get to know each other.
