I think I got these from an Asian supermarket called CAM.
They have outgrown their protection and seem ready to set fruit.
Apparently the mature fruit keeps quite well and is used in both  sweet and savory foods.
It is said to need irrigation during the entire growing season.
We will just have to see how it does without that.
The bed they are in is very water absorbent and we get a lot of rain, but I rarely water anything

Beautiful plant. Do you mean you bought the seed or melon from the store? Be prepared for huge melons! They are usually sold in slices in Asia as no one can use up a whole melon.

Winter melons have a lot of medicinal benefits according to Chinese medicine.  Great plants. My brother trellises his and routinely gets melons of 20 pounds or so.

They had the seed for sale, along with other seeds.
These and the cucumbers made it.
I only have one cumber plant left, the other was eaten by something.
I wish the bitter melon starts had made it!

I'm really hoping I get huge melons!
Between candied, dried ,fresh use and cooking, I think we will be able to handle it.
The purportedly long shelf life is very intriguing .
