I know this is a long shot but is there anyone on the east coast that could help me move and be interested in homesteading with me on my new off grid property in NE AZ for about a year?
I am in NE Pa staying with friends. I have a camper but I don’t have a driver’s license (yes I know stupid)
So I need some one that has a truck or other vehicle that can haul a decent size camper (I think it’s about 25-27ft but not sure exactly), me, my stuff ( most stuff will be in camper) and my animals ( 1 dog, bunch of cats, a few rabbits, and 7 chickens) to my property in Az.
I will pay for all gas and food for us to get there and will let you live there rent free in exchange for helping me out with various things on the homestead ( building simple animal pens, raised beds, traveling to buy animals and feed, going to the nearest town to get water and food, putting up solar panels, fencing, teaching me to drive, putting up a rain water catchment system, etc.
I will be living in my camper and would prefer for the person helping me to have their own camper to live in as There aren’t any buildings on the property. We can probably find one out there.
PLEASE no smokers, drug addicts, or drunks need apply !!!
Also please no vegans or vegetarians as I do eat meat and will be raising and butchering them myself.
So if there is an honest decent person out there that could help me move and help on my homestead please let me know.
I just don't want to deal with people that are impaired with some kind of drug. I don't drink or smoke or do drugs of any kind so there must be someone out there that is like me I hope.
I may be a little bit flexible on the drinking part of someone wants a beer or two at the end of the day just no getting drunk and causing trouble. No
Have you thought to get a drivers licence, its a good idea in remote areas?
I live with a grand daughter remotely, I taught her how to drive when she could see over the dash, about 9yo.
Because I race motorcycles, build houses and run a farm, the opportunity for injury was there.
She drove home from time to time just to get the experience and now at 19 she drives daily. and competently.

Yes I do plan on getting a license after I get out there. I can't do it right now as I don't have enough time.
I have to get out of where I am as the friends that I am staying with have some other things going on in the near future so I can't stay here more than another couple weeks.
Have you tried posting an ad on some of the Rv forums? Escapees, IRV2, + others? Most of these forums have a section for listing jobs.
Someone with a motorhome would be an ideal situation, assuming your camper is a trailer.
I feel your biggest drawback is that you want someone to volunteer a year of their life. That is why the RV forums would be a great place to find someone else looking for that exact situation.
I was also going to suggest calling some of the churches in the area you are moving to. Ask if they know of someone who is out of work and can help you. You could pay for their airfare to your current location and rent a UHaul van to pull the trailer. Since they live in that area this person would not need to live on your property though they could come out to help you during the next year.
Just some suggestions that might help.

Where are you in NY. I'm pretty familiar with many areas of the state as I used to go to rabbit shows in Cortland, Syracuse, Morrisville and a few other places.
I was in Susquehanna PA about 35 miles southeast of Binghamton and have been staying with friends near Wyalusing PA for the past several weeks, till I could find someone who would be interested in going out to Arizona with me.
Is your dog good around cats and small farm
animals? chickens and rabbits right now and
goats, sheep and pigs later on. Don't mind another dog around as long as he behaves reasonably well.
perhaps if you can't find anyone that works out you could focus on just getting to your property first and then look for a separate person to do the work with you on the property, maybe someone that already lives in AZ..
