Hello! First post ever, although I've used these forums many many times over the years as a source of inspiration.

My small family unit has recently made a move to Powers, in Southern Oregon, just on the northern tip of the Siskiyous. We are living on a homestead-type parcel which is in the range of 20 acres. I myself spent about 2 years living in eco villages around Del Norte county in CA, just south of here. I've always been very interested and invested in permaculture, and have always wanted to return to this lifestyle. My girlfriend also developed a strong interest, so here we are. We currently have a fairly large greenhouse and orchard area that both are... productive, but were in a state of moderate neglect when we arrived.

The greenhouse is a bit of a quizzical structure to me, I'm much more of the "forest garden" type mentality.

I'm not a social butterfly by any means, but I am attempting to make connections with people who are in or around my area who share this passion and who are practicing permaculture principles. I would enjoy sharing knowledge and in general making myself "known" to this community. We would eventually like to have a small village of sorts here, if we get our way.

Anyways, looking to start up a few conversations and meet a few new friends!

Cheers.

Welcome to permies, Michael!

So good to hear that you decided to join the conversation, and how exciting I think it is that you got a new place to experiment permaculture and homesteading skills on!

Hi Michael,
I'm southeast of you in Shady Cove. My property also came with a greenhouse. It's been invaluable in providing a space that the critters can't get to. Nice to find someone else in southern Oregon.
