There are shed loads of information on various aspects of gardening but they appear to be under specific headings. Last year, I gave Sepp Holzer's way of gardening a lash, albeit on a micro scale. Mixed all the seeds into a jar full of sand, gave half away and refilled the jar with sand then broadcast to jar's contents in a garden bed. Wow! At first I thought that it was a monumental fail but failure always leads to success if you keep trying. So over winter there was not much, a few small carrots, a couple of swedes and a bit of spinach - hey something is better than nothing but now the weather is warming up things are happening.
We have three gardens around the chook house and each garden has three beds. Today I had to dig over bed 1 in the west garden to get rid of Kikuyu grass roots before I transfer the overwintering sweet potato into it and plant out some garlic. Just wondering what else I can put in to eat and suppress weeds? Each garden is 6 M X 6 M (20' X 20') and each garden bed is 5 M X 1.2 M (16' X 4'). All the beds run North East to South West.
