Hi i planted a Lapins in late Spring. We gave it a good bit of fresh earth and it gas rained a goid bit in Ohio this year. It did well until recently. I need advice!
It looks like Cherry Leaf Spot, a fungus that some cherry varieties get more easily that others. It won't do any real damage, and just may cause the leaves to drop a little early, but the leaves will probably fall soon anyway, since it's nearing the end of the season.
My sweet cherries seem to love very well draining soil. Building a mound up around the tree can help a lot, and it will make the tree more happy, and its immune system will be stronger to fight off the disease on its own next year.
Best of luck!
Steve

I intended to this post when first notified but lost internet at the time. Note that stress on a new transplant makes it vulnerable to bacteria and virus infection. As the tree gets better established roots connected to the fungal network in the soil it will be more resistant to these. Aphids have also taken advantage of the opportunity and ants have taken advantage of them , tending and protecting them for the sugary waste they excreet. Lady bugs will try to lay eggs for their larva to eat the aphids but the ants will remove them.
Adding mushroom spawn to the bark mulch may help Make a carful permaculture observation if ants are helping or harming your ecosystem.
