This really shows how by thinking outside the box and setting different priorities, you can have reasonably sustainable living even in a city. Yes, they don't grow grain, but they do grow nutrition which so much modern food is lacking. I liked the comment about how they "could raise the rent but why should we". The building is supporting itself financially as well as environmentally and socially. That's care of people rather than care of money!
 
And then we all jump out and yell "surprise! we got you this tiny ad!"
