Permies has a ton of information on offer for folks looking to start out and continue on a permaculture path, which is awesome. I use Permies quite a lot for research, and many of those topics are season specific: gardening, fungi, foraging, rocket mass heater performance, etc. etc. It would be a huge help to be able to see a more specific date on older posts than, 'two years ago'.

Take for example, Eric Hanson's long-running thread about his Journey growing winecap mushrooms. How long after inoculation was it that he was starting to doubt? Or see first results? Or become a full-blown convert? In so many of the threads, I often find myself wishing I knew when exactly the poster had posted, as that is valuable information to the process-theirs and mine. Is it possible to see exact dates somewhere I'm not looking, or a reason for keeping past dates vague?  Thank you for providing such a valuable community resource.

If you're on a desktop, you can hover your mouse over the "2 years ago" and it will give you the actual date. One of the things I miss being able to do now that I'm just using my phone.

It's a PIE feature - go to your profile and choose if you want to see the actual date or so long ago.

Permies runs at a loss, and I think a big part of that is that is because we don't advertise these nifty features enough to help people learn the power of pie.

If you have PIE, you can also go to your profile settings (https://permies.com/forums/user/edit/) and scroll down to "pie settings" and set your time zone to get the the date/time for whatever time zone you want!

Click the time zone you want, and then click 'Submit' to get a timestamp on every post.

Thanks Permies People, for the info. Now I know. Alas, hovering with icon doesn't work, and I don't have PIE. For now all disposable time and cash flow is directed to getting a roof over our heads, an endeavor to which Permies wisdom has contributed. I hope I can give back sometime. Until then, I'm time out of mind! So be it. Thanks again.

You can earn pie.

When you get to 20 apples, you get a free slice of pie.

Pie is designed so that people who have means, can buy and give away pie to posts they love.  That way the community grows.

please buy this thing and then I get a fat cut of the action:
