I'll admit to having limited
experience with man-made food forests. Most of my experiences of forest harvesting come from long-term survival training in a wilderness setting. Vining layers in many old forests are all but inaccessible aside from chopping them down or only seeking them on the forest edge. It has had me wondering for quite some time how one reaches the bounty of the vining layer in an older forest garden.
I suppose the simplest way is just making sure the vines aren't climbing anything larger than a dwarf tree, but I was wondering if people with more experience might be able to lend me some insights into how they contend with reaching the lofty rewards of the vining layer that's reached the upper
canopy.
