Could an Orion Cooker be used to make biochar?

I just saw one of these at a store, and thought it looked somewhat close to a T-LUD concept.  Can anyone tell me if it looks like one could use it that way? Like your put your wood/carbon where the turkey is?  Then cook with a cast iron pan on top (maybe set a little grill cross down first)?  Or maybe make some other modification to it?

Ideally you want a dubbel walled container so the secondary air gets preheated.

Single walled does work but doesn't burn as clean which means the heat output is lower as well.

That thing is very cool!
I don't think I would use it for charcoal making, but it seems to be an oil-less turkey fryer that doesn't need propane.

Agreed, a cool item. I would be concerned about how well it would hold up for making char though. The temperatures involved are much higher than the oven temperatures for cooking a buzzard over charcoal. At least they are in my setup. I'd hate to see an expensive mistake when freeish alternatives are available.
