I've made some attempts at sprouting microgreens, but the yield has been pretty sparse compared to the thick carpet you see in pics/videos online.

I noticed recently that those seeds toward the middle of the tray tend to sprout better and so I have a new hypothesis... could it simply be that my room is too cold?

What ideal temperature should I shoot for when it comes to sprouting microgreens?

70F, plus or minus 10F seems to work well.

What conditions are you growing them at?  Do you have grow lights or a heat mat?

Just like plants that are planted outside in the spring, the seeds want lots of sunlight and warm soil. Both grow light and heat mats will help mimic those conditions.

Poor germination also could have something to do with your seed source.
