Any tips are appreciated. We are looking for probably a mid-sized bus to convert.  No idea what make/models are best. We are in Northern Georgia. I have pretty good construction skills, but always helpful to learn from those that are experienced.

Have you checked out the reddit subs r/schoolies and r/vandweller?

They have quite a bit of general info and advice if you sift through the "look at my cool van" posts.

It's a ways from Georgia, but there is a school bus auction site near Slippery Rock PA (an hour north of Pittsburgh) where you can get good used buses cheap.

I've purchased two buses a transit bus and a school bus from Public Surplus Auctions. Facebook has some excellent resources about schoolies. You Tube has some good projects from start to finish.
