The start back for the new teaching term has been pretty brutal. A few long long days already, and it has been cold and frosty. This morning my bike commute was interrupted by a flat. It was bitterly cold, I had the kit to change it, but was late for my first lesson and had to cancel it. Fixed the flat, eventually warmed up. Turned around to head home at 7pm and got ANOTHER flat. I think the replacement inner tube I carried was a dud. Very disappointing.

I ended up calling family for a lift, which work out fine.

Now for the silver lining.

My eldest had worked out I would be late and cold. While my wife was settling our youngest for bed he made a hot water bottle for me and had it ready when I got through the door. No prompting. No adult help. I think this one is going to turn out alright :D

I'm now on 4 flats from 4 rides in a row. Something is not right with my bike.

I was tempted to throw it under a passing bus this morning, but refrained.

The kid is still awesome.
