I'm halfway between total off-gridder-diy-er and total consumerist-lifestyle-can't-figure-it-out-er.
It seems like I need a whole new graduate degree to understand where even to begin with all the solar options. Let alone the rebates and financing options. I am planning to throw money at the problem partway, I'd like to cap it at $5,000, but I want to do the physical setup myself. I just don't know what a MPPT is nor whether you can eat one or if my boss was one nor how to tell a legit panel with a 25-year warrantee from a fake panel with a 25-year warrantee whose manufacturer will go out of business in five miliiseconds. So I would like to trade my expertise for someone else's expertise who can get me started on my particular goals. My goals rather than an average US consumer's goals, which seems to lead to the wrong part of the information labyrinth. And not the super-extreme solar-geek off-gridder either, I know my limits and my partner needs to work from home over the internet and not murder me out of physical discomfort.
I wouldn't be paying attention to this at all even if it weren't for skyrocketing electricity prices I'm hearing about in the area we're moving to.
I can offer movement education by videoconference or in-person (with covid safety practices)--Alexander Technique--which is permaculture principles applied to the self (body-mind in movement.). Benefits can be more energy, less pain and irritation, mental clarity, resilience in face of stimuli, more of yourself in your life.
I had thought this would be a badge bit opportunity for people getting a sand badge on solar, and it may still be, but I need an expert to direct things. Either in person or over videoconferencing. (The house is on the grid currently and has internet connectivity and stuff...). Then maybe badge-ers can work together on the ground and build structures for it.
Anyone interested? please purple-mooseage me. Thanks for considering the request.
