Hi everyone,

I took some hardwood cuttings in Dec (2021) of my dwarf sour cherry trees and have kept them in moist soil, out of direct light. They seem to be budding and I'm wondering if this is normal? Or if I've let it get too much light?

Thanks for any insight

Besides too much light, maybe where you are keeping them is too warm?

They need a cool, dark, and moist place to stay until planting time.

what you’re describing is pretty common for cuttings kept indoors. if it’s cool enough where they are, the roots should be pushing, too.
