He has developed this business that creates good fresh food for poor people in Milwaukee:
A good man who has developed a good system to help people.

This was my favorite bit of that post:

Kristen Michaelis of Food Renegade Blog wrote: Get this: Allen saw a food desert, and he started doing what he could to change it based on his own loves and special talents (gardening and sales)....Inspiring, isn’t it?

It's a lovely reminder that everybody can do something. And with enough vision and persistence, that something might be much bigger than anyone thought it would be.

He didn't need the money. He didn't do it for power and glory. He just saw a need and decided to make it better.   I also like how, when his original non-profit, Growing Power,  had problems and the board of directors ran into financial problems, he continued after the dissolution of the organization and he's still growing food for needy people in the food desert.  He doesn't get mad at the situation or the people, he just keeps working to make life better in urban Milwaukee.
