I'm just curious where all the permies are around here? I moved to NW Arkansas from Texas last summer and I really dig the community here and do have a few permies in my (local) life who I'm thrilled to know. I do miss the permaculture pot lucks, harvest parties, seed swaps, and community work days my permaculture community back in TX had regularly. I'm sure it's happening around here but I haven't caught wind of it. I'm talking something we can bring our kids to and just have a good time. Maybe I'll make one of my own if it doesn't exist, but ya know....integrate rather than segregate. I'd rather join forces with what's already happening. So where my people at?

Be well!

I'm pretty sure if you want to meet people here you need to be a church goer.

Hi! I moved to NW AR last November and have been trying to find a community as well! I rent a house east of Fayetteville with a nice size but abandoned garden my roommate and I have been able to plant a bit. I think we should start something! I've been looking through the farmers markets, and this intentional community website, but haven't reached out at all yet. https://www.ic.org/directory/ It would be fun to meet more people like yourself with similar interests. abigailcyr23@gmail.com if you'd like more contact. =)

Hi there! I am currently on the hunt for property in NW Arkansas, planning to move there from Texas as well, and would love to be a part of a permaculture/regen farming/food justice community. Following this thread to keep up with like minded people and hopefully connect once I'm there.

I'm from Texas as well. I just bought 20 acres of forest last year just south of Eureka Springs that backs up to 15,000 acres public land. I am still living in TX and trying to figure out logistics for how to move there, but I would be interested in that once I do. I do know of a place that is starting to have meetups about permaculture and they have a 200 acre intentional community in the process of starting up but they are already having meetings and having speakers come in. It is called Rockspire and it is just south of Eureka Springs. It seems to be a pretty progressive area with lots of folks looking to do cool stuff!

Im in Nw Ark and we do a few community garden clubs other than that alot of true homesteaders up here stay to themselves mainly because of how of a radius there is between larger towns and citys.

Hello everyone!
I am from NWA born and raised. I have just recently gotten into permaculture. I do know Bentonville Arkansas is starting some really great permaculture housing editions. For making communities of like minded people. My husband built the office for one not too long ago. I am in southwest Missouri now and the ground isn't fertile. It's red rock and clay. I'm going to have a tough time starting a food forest, but I was hoping to find like minded people. I recently rejoined Facebook and I am thinking of making a group? Anyone interested?

If you have more questions please message me here.
