I finally got a decent amount of Krishna Tulsi seeds back in February. I've always grown Rama tulsi. So, I heavily planted three large planters in the Krishna tulsi seeds. As of today, they run from 4-12 inches tall...but there is not a trace of red or purple in the plants from seeds labelled as Krishna tulsi. Has anyone grown this? Should I be seeing the color by now?

BTW, my attempts to upload a file just show a red x in a box but it won't seem to allow the photo. Is there a system issue?

Genetics are weird. I noticed the same thing in a lot of krishna seeds on their 2nd year but it happens with a lot of plants the more I save seed. Those green ones might have a slight purple hue at some point, or they might stay that same color. On all the krishnas the flowers were always the same color. But like you most of mine turned out green with the other ones being purple. Krishna flowers are a nice change from the rest of the culinary basils. Hope that helps. Bees love them all!
