Hi there! Just because this is how my brain works, is any one willing to give me a day to day list of what a goats feeding schedule is like and of what? Thanks in advance. Just curious as what my day to day should look like since I’m completely new. Getting them in a few weeks want to be prepared

Katelyn, welcome to Permies!

I think for starters, I'd recommend talking to the person you're getting them from and using the feeds and schedule they use. Goats digestive systems do best with s-l-o-w changes to diet, and goats themselves do best with gradual changes to their accustomed routine. Doing this will help your goats feel less stressed with the location change, give you a chance to befriend your new goats, and also give you time to research local feed resources available to you.

In general, you're looking at free choice hay and free choice loose goat minerals (rather than mineral blocks), and usually twice a day concentrates (often pellets, but sometimes grain or other items like chopped veggies.) I'd feed the same type and amount they're used to at first. Feeding time usually coincides with milking time, which you can choose to fit your schedule. The rest of the day, they'll be either grazing or resting and chewing their cuds.
