Decomposing mushroom straws to make compost

I tried growing Oyster and Milky mushroom few months ago. unfortunately it did not grow at all. Infact the spawn run was also challenging. Nevertheless, now that these straws are of no other use, i decided to spray waste decomposer into the bags. Now I am just waiting for these to turn into compost. My question to you all is, has anyone tried this before? Will these straw really decompose or should I just toss them off?

I'm not quite clear - were you trying to grow mushrooms on straw and now you're making that straw into compost? What is 'waste decomposer"? If I were going to compost straw, which is considered a 'brown', then I would add a 'green' something nitrogen rich. Urine or grass clippings come to mind. Keep it aerated and damp and it should turn to compost pretty quickly.
