Hi All,

I'm new to the permies, but I have a variety of homesteading/permaculture plans for the property that we will buy in the nearer future. I'm quite interested in making a double chambered cob oven for our patio, but I like to maximize versatility of everything, so do y'all think that it would be possible to incorporate copper tubing in the building stages of a cob oven to heat water for the household? I'm in what I call the "percolating idea stage" in my plans for the cob oven, so I'm open to all thoughts on this topic.
Thanks!
Laurie

Laurie, welcome to Permies! I see that you haven't gotten any replies to your question, and although i don't know the answer, I'm going to suggest that you browse through our rocket oven forum. i don't know if that's what you have in mind, but a number of people have built them with cob. You may find some ideas and answers there.

You could fit a wetback tank into the build which would work very well, they are used on wood ovens.
You either make one or purchase one.
Here is some interesting information about the units.
