Hi All,
A couple years ago I build a greenhouse using some of that schedule 40 gray conduit. Due to a bunch of stuff happening I was unable to maintain the internal supports and a heavy wind/rain storm knocked it somewhat over. Then winter came and really flattened it, followed by half a summer of everything being baked underneath the plastic before I was able to get back to it. While disassembling it to see what I can reuse to build a new greenhouse... I find 95% of the conduit pieces are bent in "S" shapes or crimped at one end or some combination. Neither of those shapes are conducive to building another gothic arch greenhouse like I had originally. Can I do anything to straighten them back out? Or are they a loss and I need to buy new ones for my next greenhouse?

Thanks in advance for anything helpful information.

Yes it can. I flatten and shape SH40 to make bows using a heat gun. If I goof up, I gently reheat the plastic and it returns back to a straight pipe.

If you want really straight, you will need to make some sort of trough / jig to place the floppy plastic pipe in so that it is held in the correct position while it hardens again otherwise it will have a slight bend or kink.

It's good to want things. Want away. Want this tiny ad.
