I'm copying the idea of Luke Mitchell's thread to document harvests that will go toward PEP BB gardening.wood.calories. And maybe when that's done I'll keep using the thread to work toward the much more complex million polyculture calories BB.

I should have started this before now, of course, since the tomatoes and zucchini have been rolling in for a few weeks and the raspberries are all gone, but it is what it is and I might be able to back-document the raspberries (my wife was documenting her jam-production on Facebook, so we'll see). And corn, potatoes, winter squash, and beans are all still in the garden, so that'll be the bulk of the calories.

And mostly because everyone likes pictures, I'm throwing down some general scenes of my operation:

Sometimes it's a major harvest like the squash above, but sometimes it's meal time and I just bring in what I need. This was for enchiladas.

I've opted here to use https://www.nutritionix.com/ for Calorie counts at least for any foods they have. In the case of Sea Kale, I also searched around for a short while and came up empty and figured kale was close enough.

408 more Calories! :-)

Tomatoes, amirite?! It's a little over 25.5 lbs, but I'm rounding down to account for the 1020 tray. That makes it 2082 Calories.

Ugh...of course, immediately after writing that was all the potatoes, I found two more batches that I'd stashed over by the couch. But that's OK because I have a couple other end-of-season things to add:

9 lbs / 1227 Cals of watermelon
4 lbs / 871 Cals of horseradish

I picked summer squash for the first time this year. All we're growing this summer is the Mexican grey zucchini -- I'll have plenty of these seeds to mix into my pepos for next year.

It's 13.63 kg / 4089 Cals
