Hi!

My family owns a piece of estate zoned as “commercial”. It is situated close to our farmland , nobody showed interest ever but now, with a new road, some developers started to ask questions.

Worried about them building some horrible shit if my uncles want to sell (we have many examples around) I was thinking that I could move in advance and innovate.

I was thinking that I could develop something with the permaculture principles, integrated in the farmland landscape and with many of the principles we are talking here. And this could set a new way of doing things around. But I dont know if something like this has been done, so I came here to ask if you know any case or have some idea. In this town I have seen the horror all around with super ugly concrete blocks that destroyed my childhood landscape. So I thought, I could do something about it.

My real choice would be to do nothing and just plant trees. But the flow is: developers are asking about it, my uncles are thinking about the money, so I could ride the wave and flow with it, taking charge of the situation. I know the right people for this and I could find how to finance it (sadly, I dont know how to sell the project of “give me one million euros to buy this plot and do nothing with it” )

So, if you know if this has been done, or how could it be done, it would be great

Take a look at this website: https://www.etsy.com/

With the above as inspiration, think of cottage industries. There is so much that you can sell from a stand or "retail building" or artist studio. You can make it yourself, buy and then resell it or more creatively, sell it on commission. Maybe you could even create a "farmers market" and rent out stands to local artist and farmer, to come and sell their wares and food, like gemstone, clothes, jewerly, furniture, 3D-printed things, solar dehydrators, there could also be a educational workshop area, and also food/drinks like water kefir, milk kefire, local cheese, honey still in the honey comb, cakes, trail-mix, etc.

If I were faced with this situation I would talk with the uncles to get control of the property before they make a deal for money.

I would ask if they would consider doing owner-finance on the property to me.

Once I had control of the property I would look for business partners to make the dream come true.

Hola Anne. Yes, this is taken care off..They cant make any deal by themselves, my father has to coordinate it, so having my father the last word he can control the rythm.

As long as they get money, they will go for it.

What I need now is inspiration for how could this place be, or maybe knowing other experiences

Hey cool! They got a blimp! But I have a tiny ad:
