My little town dump has an area where people can just dump yard waste. Obviously, no care or thoughts goes into this, people just dump stuff. I'm sure eventually though, the stuff breaks down and probably makes pretty tremendous soil. Anyway, here is my possible evidence. This squash/pumpkin is pretty obviously a volunteer. I'm pretty certain no one went to the trouble of trying to plant it. I measured the longest vine and it was over 40 ft. This is all one plant. The squash I picked from it is between 40 and 50 lbs by my guess. It had two big ones like this and a bunch of little ones. I would have liked to let it grow longer, but we have 3 nights in a row of freezing temperatures coming up.
