Looking for land with small house

We are searching for an acre more or less of land with a tiny house/cottage/cabin that needs work to do our homesteading. We would have 30K or less cash to buy the property. Does anyone know of such a property for sale in the east (Virginia or Maryland) or where else we might look to find it? Are there any particular internet searches we should use to search for our property? We are very flexible as to where we can look, but just don’t seem to be finding what we need.

Hi Mark/Susan, I live in NC near the Va border. I have a center block house with concrete floors. Great for a Rocket Mass Heater. It is on an acre and 1/3. I am thinking about fixing it up as money permits but may entertain the idea of selling it. It is in a rural area on a paved country road. It needs a new roof and windows. You can also try ebay. www.ebay.com.
Search under real estate and the state you want to look in. Be sure to really read the ads as some have reserve prices.
Also check out www.realtor.com and in the search put in the city and state you want and in advance search you can put how many acres, Etc. I
If you like Texas or Florida both ebay and Realtor have lots of cheap stuff there.

You might also try the hunting cabins of PA & NY. Another option are the small cottages found in rural NW Ohio.
