My main question is what is the moat effective way to move heat from an external woodstove when the heat output on the woodstove is a few feet above your underfloor ductwork? I believe I have smoked a couple blowers now either by air restriction or too much backpressure trying to force the air down. Currently my blower is in the cold air return and i have the ducts ran as efficiently as possible Givin the circumstances. No 90s, everything is sized appropriately, etc. I think my blower is simply working too hard pushing air through the stove then down to the underfloor vents. Open to any suggestions! I'm contemplating digging out a wood cellar haha but if there is a simpler route that woukd be grand. Is there a way to calculate how much downforce cfm would be required  for say 4 foot of drop in 12 inch duct? In line blowers?

Edit: excuse the name apparently someone already took mine 🤣

Josh, welcome to the forum.

Are you trying to get the heat from the wood stove into the ductwork to move the air throughout the house?

Hi Josh, do you have a central furnace with ductwork and a blower? If so usually the best bet is to locate a large cold air return vent near the woodstove and restrict the other cold air vents so the one near the stove does most of the work. Is that what you are doing now?

I am not sure what is failing on you: bearings or motor?

Is it possible your blower is drawing in too much high-heat and thus overheating the electric motor or bearings?
Is your blower motor getting proper amperage/voltage?
Is your blower underpowered for the volume of air it is being asked to move? (1/4 hp instead of the 1/2 hp it needs for example)
