paypal purchase while not logged in - name already in use

I seem to have committed the unpardonable and made a purchase without logging in first and seem to be going in circles of you can’t get there from here when I try to login with a password and am unable to access my purchase

From what I can see right now, it looks like there is already a permies user registered with the same first and last name that you are attempting to register.  You can change a character, use a nickname, or pick another real-sounding name and register that way.  You can use any available name you'd like, provided it complies with permies real sounding name policy.
