Haven't posted because getting in touch with some people on the reservation lacking modern communication can be difficult.  : P  We missed our original date but it turns out part of that was due as much to work he was committed to doing.  I'm still trying to reach another deadline in about 7-8 days but at least it's not an irreversible one, just an inconvenient one.  (could mean 3 months until there's next a chance to do a thing that is better done sooner)  So if the post is still up, until i've posted that i've found gourds - i'm still looking for gourds.  Even in the future I might need an ongoing source to send others to (i'm now being asked to get a 2nd for someone else having a hard time finding one if I can).

Good news #1 - he said mailing it is fine, even though it will freeze, and thaw, it will be good enough.

Second I told him of difficulty finding the right kind of gourds out of season and he said that in a pinch we could use winter sweet pumpkins and white pumpkins, as long as they are the type from here and were grown in the continental 48.

I'll be in minneapolis for work reasons by tuesday anyways but i'll check this thread back by tues or weds if anyone has new convenient information.  If a perusal of asian and specialty food stores doesn't turn up anything i'll be seeing if anyone has new info here to try to use at the last moment like a mail order hoping to arrive by saturday kinda thing.

Farmers know to never drive a tractor near a honey locust tree. But a tiny ad is okay:
