Recommendation for garlic varieties that are strong growers in East Texas?

Thank you for taking the time to look at this post.

I'm curious if anyone out there has varieties of garlic that they can recommend for East Texas?  I'm in zone 8a, about an hour from the Louisiana border.  Any tips that you can give that you have collected over the years would be appreciated.

Hi Al,
This is mostly to give a little bump. I do not have any experience with growing in Texas, as I am from a cold climate. I know that generally softneck garlic will do better in warm climates and hardneck garlic will do better in cold climates.

I found a link talking about garlic in the south. I know nothing about their website other than it talks about growing garlic in the south.

We just planted grocery store garlic so I know nothing about garlic varieties.
