my luck with trying to revive dead thrown away chainsaws has been hit and miss in the past. today I had huge success with help from farmertec parts direct from china.
I have about 30 more hardwood logs to cut and split for firewood from the log truck load of rejects from a local sawmill that I got last year. I had two still chainsaws that I just could not get to run, one of them an ms180 I could not get running for the past 2 years and the other is an old ms360pro could not get it going for 10 years--until today. I replaced fuel lines and filters and rebuilt the carburetor on the 180. I rebuilt it 4 times and it still would not run. I got new carburetors from farmertec. it took 3 weeks for delivery but the cost was within my budget. bit was worth the wait. both saws run perfect now.
its such a feeling of accomplishment and success that I have not had in a long time.
some of the logs ive got to cut up now are bigger than anything I have ever cut. oak trees about 36" or more in diameter and that old 360 will be put to good use.

Well done! I applaud your persistence, that’s the secret ingredient to most of my successes ✌️

Honestly, most of the time I have no idea what I’m doing until the last 20% or so of a project.
