I had an idea and would need some thoughts from fellow Permies once again!
The plan was to grow tomatoes in pots in front of our house and make a wooden trellis grid on the walls. It does get hot in there but I hope not too hot for them to fruit...
Then I thought that I could shade the kitchen window with vining plants.. Snack cucumbers and cucamelons came to mind! However I'm not sure how to trellis them..
Here's an awesome drawing I made:
I don't think I want to do a wooden trellis grid over the window..
I thought I could hang some kind of strings or ropes from the roof "overhang". But would it be enough? Then I thought maybe sticking some kind of poles to the ground but I don't think there's a possibility to stick them deep enough because of the styrofoam that's underground not too deep.. Any ideas?
Also if you have a vining plant that doesn't mind the heat in mind, do share!
