Hi all;
A few years ago I purchased my first 12-volt chest freezer, a 14' Sundanzer, we absolutely love it!
This year we wanted a second smaller freezer for garden produce and other stuff.
I went back to Sundanzer, looking to buy an 8' freezer,
They are still struggling to get production back after the pandemic.
No freezer's in my size available.
I located the Amish-made SunStar super insulated 12vt products.
They offered an 8' 12-volt model with 4.5" insulation, it can be a chest freezer or a chest refrigerator!
That's kinda cool if our Amish-made propane fridge were to break down we would have a usable fridge already here!
Some day I may replace our propane fridge with a SunStar 12-volt standup refrigerator!
It arrived late yesterday and other than moving it inside the building I have not connected it to the battery bank yet.
The top was damaged during shipping.
It's cosmetic damage so I can still use it.
Photo's have been sent to the manufacturer and we are waiting to hear their offer on how to rectify the problem.

HI Thomas,
I really like the optional refrigerator thermostat. I've recommended conversion a few times to owners of small systems but it would be so much better if it just came standard.
Cheers,
David
Custom made for Living Energy Lights by Sun Star, an Amish company in Indiana. Chest design with 8 cubic feet of interior space. This unit has a specialized Secop compressor that can run direct off of any PV panel between 10 and 45 volts. Panel wattage can be as low as 120W but we recommend using 200-250W for better performance in cloudy conditions. 4.5″ thick walls maintain cold temperatures at night.
Thermostat may be adjusted to run this unit as a refrigerator OR a freezer (not at the same time). Dimensions are 41.6″ x 27.6″ x 34.5″.
