Freedom from nicotine

After 19 years as a 2 pack a day smoker, I am proud to say that I have not had a single puff in over 18 months. I had tried and failed to quit numerous times, but that was because I didn't understand what I was up against. On February 20th will be 14 months for me without a cigarette. Whyquit.com is also where I got the information I needed to quit. I have also had a lot less headaches since I quit smoking.

When I moved to Seattle (1997) cigarettes were about $3.50 a pack.
Now, they are almost $9.

I have to ask myself "If I quit, who's going to pay the Governor's salary?"

Good for you! If you are on the Freedom forums I am known as Garden Joe. I don't go there often anymore, but I do try to pop in from time to time to help encourage the newbies.

Why the name Garden Joe? Because fear of sickness in myself wasn't enough to get me to quit, but when I found out I could transmit tobacco mosaic virus to my tomatoes it was just too much. So I wouldn't quit to save myself, but I did to save some annual vegetables. Crazy right.


John, if he is like most goveners, salary is only a tiny portion of his income so I wouldn't sweat it.
