I want to get into small scale feed production and sales. Not sure If I'd actually need a hammer mill, but a pelleter for sure. I want to play with the heirloom corns, tree hay, and root crops we produce. Any insight on a functional pellet extruder, how to run one, or tips for maintenance and operation?

Looking forward to anyone’s answers on feed pellets. Kind of related.. I was just thinking the other day about pellets for pellet stoves. (I don’t have one, but lots of folks do..) I burn piles of dried Kochia every winter, and that stuff goes up like atomic hellfire. I was thinking two birds with one stone.. clear the land of this persistent weed, and make a bit of MUNNY$.. (if dried while green, and before seed.. Kochia could be used for feed pellets, too!)
