I have read many times on this forum that a vortex feature in a J tube will not improve the stoves performance.

There are of course a lot of people (individuals, youtubers, facebookers) who are convinced a vortex will improve the performance!

In my case I dont have any way to test the stove other than my eyes and a temperature gauge.

However it just looks to me like the air and flames are getting very well mixed and with my temp gun showing positive improvements in the temperatures  in all areas I can easily measure.

On that basis, I feel that for my own personal use, a vortex shows a positive improvement and is something I will utilise in future J tube builds.

Of course it may be that any of the stoves I build are producing more air pollutants than standard J tubes, I have no way of testing that aspect.

I like it. Do you think I should swap sides for a southern hemisphere build?

I have always favoured the top loading j tube, If you remember I made up some templates for a 6” vortex Top loader a few years back and got shot down in flames for even suggesting  it might work!
However I still have the models I made and if I can find the time, I will this time go a head and build something similar….
