Hi all! New here and enjoying learning from y'all. My husband and I are in NW WY and attempting to setup temporary coverings (and greenhouse effect) a 3 sided loafing shed for winter for livestock. We're wanting it to be temporary so it returns to 3 sides during the warmer months. Any thoughts on the best way to go about this?
Material would need to withstand hoofs, horns, beaks, claws, etc. We've thought about the greenhouse material at hardware stores but that is a bit more than temporary to put up. Material would need to hold up to wind (albeit that side is facing the southern sun and our winter winds come from the NE) and -30+ temps.
I've attached a picture of the loafing shed. We'll be putting up "walls" where the loafing shed starts to slope down so that some of the pens are available for different animals.

Since you want this to be temporary hay or straw square bales would work perfectly for your needs.
There is a post on the forum where someone used hay bales to make a temporary shelter for their sheep up in Wyoming or Utah, or at least one of the really cold states and this worked for them.
