I feel bad because I try to always have terra cotta available for house plants. The breathability of the material and the esthetic are important to me.

To minimize emptying my bank account to purchase new terra cotta, I'm experimenting with low fire clay and coiling my own. I have an Olla that I need to try and open fire.

I used to be big on using various household things for plants, but with time I moved more towards food plants, and they need bigger pots. For all sizes, now I find for some reason it's so much easier to find discarded flowerpots than to make them out of "found objects". Even the big ones, since I made friends with the guy who does landscaping for the city works crew, and I got oodles of big pots that young palm trees were transported in.
But I am very envious of those folks who can get those large plastic tubs that store cattle salt/mineral lick (or whatever that stuff is). There's a couple on youtube I used to watch who had a greenhouse full of those big tubs, growing serious veg.
