Hi everyone! I've been lurking for about 3 weeks now, what a great place! At times I am overwhelmed with all the information and resources available but at the same time totally jazzed to find people that really do live this way and we can too. And it is good to know that we are not crazy!

All we have so far is a dream but we are taking actionable steps (sorry previous career raising it's ugly head) towards the life we want. Taking our destinies in our own hands in a nutshell (with nuts and nutshells?). Why not? What's to stop us? We have nothing to loose!

We are me and my boyfriend Wayne. He'll join soon.

I am a burnt out web designer and life long hobby herbalist. I should be growing herbs and nuts and fruits and veggies and putting my lifelong interest to practice. At almost 48, I think it's about time.

In a nutshell our plans are: get hands on experience however we can immediately, get funding for all we will need, find land somewhere, somehow, implement our plan. I have a rough sketch of the first 5 years already, now just need the details filled in! Details details!

At times the living in limbo gets to us but we shall be as positive as we can and do our best to make what we want happen.

Thank you all for being here and everywhere on the internet, sharing so much of yourselves. What I gain, and it will be a lot, I will pay forward.

Cheers!
Gemma
