I'm coming over from Australia with Formidable Vegetable Sound System on a world tour of Permaculture Ukulele songs! Sound insane? ...quite possibly! But if you could help me out with some gig ideas, I'd be most grateful! At the moment I'll be around Seattle and Portland from the 10th of May for a couple of weeks and would love to meet you local permies and play some music for you - as well as for the wider community (we need more recruits!) If you can help out at all, please email me at charlie "at" permaculturesongs.com with any ideas!
If you want to have a listen to some of the music, you can check it out here: music.formidablevegetable.com.au Look forward to meeting you!
There are a lot of cities in the Puget Sound(Seattle) area within ~10km or so of Seattle that have their own farmers markets too. Vashon & Bainbridge Islands and short ferry rides from Seattle and they also have nice farmers markets. There's also the famous Pike Place Market downtown, but I'm pretty sure there's a permit system in place to busk/play. Maybe you could try to find a place to play in Olympia on your drive South to Portland. I'm sure there's a good place for a permaculture ukelele show in Olympia.
