Hey ya'll! I'm looking for fellow gardeners near where I live to discuss topics of urban homesteading/gardening and possibly hang out and geek about plants and exchange gardening experiences.

Welcome to the forums!

I encourage you to check out Shenandoah Permaculture Institute (SPI).  Here's their facebook link.

You'll find plenty of amazing folks in their growing network!

I recently finished my fall 2023 PDC with SPI based out of Verona, VA, doing design work for Project GROWS.  Lovely area and lovely people.  Enjoy the forums and keep the questions coming!

Hello! I live near there. Not so much up for meeting, but would love to swap tales of what species and cultivars have worked in various places. Also, I've heard a bunch about the Allegheny Mountain Institute and Project GROWS. My mother has visited Project GROWS but I haven't been to either yet. I've also been researching nearby native plant nurseries and trying to ask around to see who has plants I can propagate cuttings from. If I try a nursery or you do and have a good/bad experience, that would be good to know! We just bought our place last year (1/2 ac) and a few big rotten trees need to come down before we really try much, but I am in the design phase right now.
