Anyone have aerial pictures of standing dogs? I'm trying to make an accurate dog figurine present!

A friend of mine's dog was hit by a car a few months ago, and I thought I could make her a needle-felted miniature version of her dog for Christmas. But, making accurate 3D sculptures is hard! It's a lot easier to make a good replica if I have pictures from all angles. I've found some pictures of her dog, but none are from above. And, even searching the web, it's hard to find aerial pictures of standing dogs!

Husky and German Shepherds are the most similar type of dog to hers, but any medium-sized dog, like a Golden Retriever, Lab, Akita, Australian Shepherd, even Collie would be super helpful.

Thank you!!!

Those help a bit, but I'm still replying on what another artist interpreted, and that might not be all the way accurate.

The hard thing with making figurines is that they can look great from one side, but when you rotate them, they look "off."

I haven't started working on the puppers head yet, but here's the side view

It still needs work, but doesn't look too bad. But, when viewed from above, it sure looks off!

Those are some pretty extreme curves. And they don't look right...but I don't have dog to go stare at to see what is off. Why do the proportions look okay from the side, but not the top?

Carla's example, picture #6, is what I was going to suggest.

Your dog is too skinny, like picture #3, it needs to have a little more weight added.

Compare the size of your dog's head to the size of the rear.

Thank you, Carla! That's immensly helpful, as it shows both the side and top views of the same breed at different weights. The dog I'm trying to depict looks to be in the "ideal" weight.

Carla beat me to it! The first thing I thought of is the proper weight photos. I think if you blend the shoulders into the ribs a little it will take care of it, but it looks fine, really, the way it is. I doubt anyone would notice.

Thank you all for you help! I think it's really helped make her more proportionate. I think she needs a little more fine-tuning to be even more accurate. But, I've been staring at her so long that I can't figure out what is wrong, let alone how to fix it.

I think something is wonky with her head and neck. If anyone sees something I should fix, please tell me!

Nicole, your dog turned out beautiful.  I love the ears and the markings.

I am sure your friend will love it.

Thank you both! I gave it to my friend a few days ago, and she loved it ♥

Thank you, everyone, for all you help! I kept working on the dog, and kept trying to make her more proportionate. I also made her a little bandana like was in one of her pictures.
