This 19 acres of prime regenerating forest has everything; In addition to being lovely, it’s located on the gentle south facing slope of the Olympic Peninsula about 400 ft. elevation. It has a pristine clear year-round “creek” (would be called a river in some places) with water rights; fertile, rich, black, forest loam soil; privacy…as a forest inholding (very low taxes) with access across a private bridge. It’s a gateway that connects to hundreds of miles of GDRC timber roads that go up to the Olympic National Forest. These roads are only for horse, bike, and walking, no motorized traffic allowed. We rarely see anyone on these trails.

Imagine that’s your backyard

Imagine your front yard has the vibrant pristine creek (beaver dams, recovering salmon), a new, steel, private bridge, a developed campground with ten spaces, producing fruit trees, and a meadow. This is an ideal glamping site for hiking and trail biking, and a high income producing basecamp for equestrian adventurers. This is indeed a rare opportunity for equestrian travels, with a stream right at the base camp. There is plenty of water on trails for days of exploring.

There is an ongoing grant that is for maintaining it as a forest, and developing it with native trees, and sustainable systems. We are on the back 4 acres of the land, and will discuss more about options of us leasing our spot, which will continue the grant for all the property. Subdividing is also an option, and it can have 4 living structures, besides outbuildings. Electricity is on the edge of property. Reach out to us, and we can give you greater details on this.

It has been our mission to bring the trees to their maturity here, and we are looking for folks that desire this for this land. There are several large, mature trees on this property. We see a collaboration of making this forest more pristine and sustainable for future generations.

We have developed this land for 12 years now, with many challenges to get it where it is now. The value of this land is increasing rapidly as people are searching for a moderate climate, remote, yet close to amenities. We are in our sixties, and there have been health challenges for my Partner, and this has brought the land to a foreclosure in 2 months. So we are open to selling this for the $85,000 cash to stop the legal proceedings, plus a cash out or owner financing for an agreed upon amount.  We are flexible on this for the right person or group. The 4 acre lots are selling for $140,000 near us.

This land is for people that want a sustainable home, or retreat, are lovers of trees and nature, and want to continue to own it for a long time.

We are here to answer questions, and look forward to sharing information.

Hi Trudy,
I love the description of your land, it sounds like quite the dream. I'm very interested in connecting with you to talk more details about the opportunity and seeing if I would be a good fit! I'm 27 and was raised in Monroe, WA, recently I've been on the road looking for affordable land to start homesteading and stewarding the land. I've been searching the southwest since much of WA has been out of my price range but maybe this will workout well for the both of us! Please feel free to contact via email at 7danielmurphy@gmail.com or by phone at 425-346-5281.

Welcome to permies Trudy.  I'm sorry that yourself and your partner need to look at new options, including finding some new land stewards, but I'm hoping that by posting here you'll find the answers and people you need.  This would also be good for the Cascadia section of the regional forums.  If we were closer to you and not down in OR, where we need to stay, we'd likely inquire farther ourselves.

Welcome to permies Trudy. It sounds like a wonderful place. I was a backcountry ranger and educator in Olympic National Park, and that is an extremely beautiful area. Where on the peninsula are you? I have passed this post along to my brother in Seattle, who may be interested or know somebody who is. Best of luck!

Hi Trudy. My name is Ryan and I currently live in Port Townsend. I want to echo the condolences that others have mentioned, but with that being said, some friends of mine and I are looking to purchase land and this sounds like a potentially solid opportunity. If it's still available, please feel free to reach out. My email address is rgrossenbacher86@gmail.com and my phone number is 425.530.0720. Either one with work. I hope to hear from you soon.
