And because it's December, and I've been playing with the Zorn limited palette and handmade watercolours:
(it has sparkles)
I have a bit more playing with these watercolours before sharing a review. But talking about reviews, we've got a thread in The 100 Chicken Fan Club for reviewing handmade painting and watercolour supplies... um, how to say... in a way that we wouldn't normally review them publically. I tend not to say anything publically if I don't like a product. So it's nice to have a safe space to share our experiences. Which makers are amazing and which are um... not really worth it.
He's so named after one of my favourite movie heroes. handsome Stranger (named after his dad).
(warning, this movie is of its time and doesn't share the same sensitivities to issues that we have as a culture now. There's still quite a few funny moments in it and if you can tolerate mal brooks and road runner, this might be the movie for you)
I don't know this hen. She was at my farm on picture day and yes, she tried to bite me for taking her photo. But I haven't seen her before and I haven't seen her since.
These are done for a friend and they include my first attempt at painting humans (cropped for privacy)
These are both painted using handmade professional watercolours from Beam Paints using a version of the Zorn limited palette (Turtle Belly, Harvest Wheat, Limestone, and Mars black)
I need a lot of practice painting humans, but it's something that would be fun to learn once I finish my chickens.
