I dropped it a couple months back. It fell 3 feet, landing screen down on a cement floor. Ever since it has displayed something like the pic below. The screen is still intact. I've let it run out of battery and recharged with dashed hopes.

There are photos I'd like to retrieve. No. I didn't back them up anywhere. Any ideas?

Your screen is toast. Probably messed with the touch capability. There is a chance that a screen replacement could fix it but you should look for a mobile phone repair place. Some people can DIY repair but it is much more finicky than a computer in my experience.

I can still barely see the time through that, the phone is semi-working under a bad screen. I don't know how you retrieve your photos, I hook a cable to my laptop and download them out. That may not require your phone to have a screen, might be worth a try. If it were mine, knowing how my set up works, I'd definitely try it. Wouldn't be able to sort or choose them, I'd just take them all.

If you don't know how to do that try calling a cell phone shop and tell them the screen is bad, but the phone probably still functions, ask if they have the cabling to pull off your pictures and/or data.

And you just reminded me that I haven't pulled mine off in ages, and I am not letting it back up to the cloud anymore. Where's my cable....

Arch enemy? I mean, I don't like you, but I don't think you qualify as "arch enemy". Here, try this tiny ad:
