I'm interested in building with living roofs and also using excess runoff for water. Does anyone know of people who have done this and made it work?

Michael E.: Rob Roy has several books on the owner built home, cord wood construction and straw bail houses. I have been to his place here in
Extreme Upstate New York and I have seen that most of his buildings (built under his instruction by volunteers and paying students) have Living
Roofs ! You can contact him here at Permies ! Good luck!
